Bellingham Girls Rock Camp Benefit
Bellingham Girls Rock Camp Benefit
Bellingham Girls Rock Camp (BGRC) is a summer day-camp for female-identified youth ages 8 to 17. In one week, girls get a crash course in writing songs, playing an instrument, collaborating with a band, audio recording, and performance. In addition, campers take a series of workshops focused on empowerment and social justice. Past workshops have included the History of Women in Music, ‘Zine Creation, Body Image & Media Literacy, Screen Printing, and Hip Hop Feminism.
Charlie and the Rays
Charlie and the Rays
Seattle-based folk/rhythm and blues band Charlie and the Rays.

Charlie and the Rays, fronted by three women, delivers harmony-rich, classic folk rhythm & blues songs accented by punchy horn licks and a unique synthesis of folk and blues guitar and harmonica. The band evolved from sisters Jordan and Rebecca Stobbe, and childhood friend Gracia Bridges busking in the streets of Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington in the summers of their youth.
The band incorporates the textures of harmonized, soulful vocals, layered with blues and folk rock progressions and melodies. Uniquely combining guitar, bass, drums, and synthesizer with brass and harmonica, the result is an intoxicating vibe that begs for audience movement and participation.

"Sultry vocals, soulful guitar bends, sparkling keyboard parts, and playful lyrics invite you to step outside your own troubles for a second. Smooth bass holds you like an old friend, while steady, crisp, snare hits tie everything together until sharp hi hats and gentle ride punch through the dreamy mix to wake you up. Song content includes anything from outdoor adventures to social change."
