Plastic Picnic
Plastic Picnic
(Including former members of Learning Team!)
Plastic Picnic is a Brooklyn based band comprised of four Pacific Northwest transplants. The duos – Lute and Panerio, and Hunt and Taylor – developed their styles playing in separate Seattle projects "Learning Team" and "Clone Wolf". It wasn’t until moving east that the pairs were brought together by a mutual friend. Instantly compatible, the group shared a taste for lyrically forthright indie rock paired with driving 80's rhythms, sweetly spun melodies and atmospheric synth and guitar work. The four piece teamed up with Producer/Engineer Ted Young (Kurt Vile, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Sonic Youth) to record their upcoming debut release---the first single being "Nausea in Paradise".

Vervex
"Bellingham’s Vervex dexterously summons submerged reverie-styled experimental-rock. Jake Barrow’s dreamy disposition immediately calls to mind bands like Panda Bear and Local Natives. While various subgenres of electronic and post rock combined to create his first album, Zapatos, Vervex’s The Wave, demonstrates how Barrow has honed his art and focused his energy into lushly layered sounds and vocals that command your attention. These songs are buoyant, enchanting, urgent, and their anatomy is elaborate. This is music that has flamboyant confidence and demands your affinity." EMP Sound Off

"Barrow manages to take the essence of Bellingham and the Pacific Northwest and turn it into music—music that is both sing-able and memorable." - What's Up Magazine
