Mōtus
Mōtus
Mōtus a seven-piece group based in Bellingham, WA that pulls from neo-soul, jazz, R&B, and funk musical stylings.

Originally founded as the folk-rock band Momo Grace in 2015, the group performed throughout Washington state for two years and released two albums. The band went through many transitions following folk artist and songwriter Zach Kutkey’s departure from the group.

In 2017, they welcomed Troy Bohman (bass), Tim Zilar (guitar), Rebekah Way (alto sax), and Jeanie Marinella (vocals & percussion). The band set off in a completely new direction to become Mōtus, performing styles ranging from thought-provoking ballades to backbeat funk and fusion. Mōtus is influenced by many of today’s contemporary jazz, R&B, neo soul, and hip-hop groups and producers. They find inspiration in socially and politically conscious music and aim to compose songs that are in the same vein.

The band is excited to continue their journey and are raising funds for 2018 Spring & Summer tours.
