The Hillbilly Moon Explosion
The Hillbilly Moon Explosion
The Hillbilly Moon Explosion are a half-English 4-piece. Hidden away in the unlikely habitat of Switzerland, they’ve honed their craft without distraction for many years. Searching for the right sound they’ve previously recorded in San Diego, Camden and Tooting, but for this album they went back to the local studio where they made their early rockabilly albums, allowing more time to get it spot on.

The line-up is chanteuse Emanuela Hutter, Oliver Baroni on vocals and stand-up bass, Duncan James on guitar and Sylvain Petite on drums; With Monsters and Gods is also embellished by Oliver’s latent piano skills. The esteemed Pete Thomas provided saxophone, he also played live with the band alongside Martin Winning on horns and Geraint Watkins on keyboards on their recent European tour.

With Monsters and Gods was produced by Oliver Baroni as the band wanted “to reflect the somewhat harder edge you get from the months on the road.” and the result “is a louder, more rock’n’roll album.” The album concerns itself with “making friends with your demons”. The title track deals with this and ‘deep love’, while the rest of the album warns what can happen if “you’re afraid of your demons and ignore them which might lead you to Depression and Desperation and constantly being Down on your Knees.”

Opening with psychedelia meets 50s sci-fi of In Space, the following 13 songs are an aural treat firmly rooted in established musical styles (rockabilly, r’n’b etc.). However, with Emanuela’s vocals you get “this weird distinctly non-American approach to singing” creating a unique sound.

With contributions including Spark Phillips of Demented Are Go and mariachi horns courtesy of Calexico, a song that makes you want to start throwing stuff around to and another reimagining Blondie recording in the 50’s, you have a very special album from a band that is not only at ease with themselves but one that’s at its full creative tilt and in the ascendant.

The band are quite an online and vinyl phenomenon, boosted by the My Love For Evermore single, a duet with Spark Phillips. Tattoos of My Love For Evermore have become a thing, with dozens of fans comparing photos on the band’s Facebook page. At least 40 cover-versions add to the 12 million of views of the song’s viral video on Youtube: https://youtu.be/2rlYPb2plaY?t=15s and the 7” vinyl sold out a remarkable eight pressings.

The only band to have played the Rebellion Punk Festival and the Camden Jazz Cafe in the same week, the Hillbilly Moon Explosion are much revered the world over and have toured Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Finland, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Greece, Poland, Tunisia amongst others.
Hard Fall Hearts
Hard Fall Hearts
Hard Fall Hearts are Bryan Kelly (Guitar, Vocals), Eli Rinek (Drums, Vocals), and Andrew Verdugo (Upright Bass, Vocals).
Hailing from San Diego, this Punk/Rockabilly outfit is here to stay through the blood sweat and tears! Hard Fall Hearts' sound is both dark and distinct yet reverent to the roots of rock-n-roll. As always pressing the pedal to the metal these boys have been playing great SoCal/Regional venues, Europe, Scandinavia, and North American tours for the past 10 years.

In March of 2008 front man Bryan Kelly captured the attention of Drummer Eli Rinek and Upright Bassist Ian Watson a.k.a. "Rocket" with his haunting melodies. With the manic slapping style of Rocket uniquely complimenting the steady, hard driving back beats from Eli, HFH was born! Playing a show 24 hours after their first rehearsal these boys knew they were firing on all cylinders! In fact, that in itself motivated the title of their debut album, 'Last 24 Hours', released in October of 2008.

Utilizing their creative momentum, HFH finished recording their second album 'To All Believers' in Jan of 2010 and it was released on Double Barrel Records on March 26th 2010. That coincided with a 6 week tour of Europe and a US tour in early 2011. After some personnel changes on Bass, Kyle Olson a.k.a. "KRO" joined the band for a 5 week tour of Europe in June of 2012. Kyle played all Bass tracks for the EP titled 'Die Before, We Die' released in October of 2013 on Splatterhouse Wreckords. Andrew Verdugo joined the band in Dec. of 2012 and is the "new face on bass!" Andrew has now been a part of HFH for 5 years and has completed several US/Regional tours and a European tour in Sept.-Oct. of 2014.

2016 was a busy year as we released a live album titled 'Live at the Merrow' on Splatterhouse Wreckords. We included two bonus studio tracks and released the single "The Devil Lives Downstream" coinciding with an official video released Dec 1st 2016. 2017 was an exciting year for the band as they completed another Western US tour and their 4th successful European tour during the Fall. Most importantly 2018 resembles an impressive milestone as HFH will be celebrating their 10 Year Anniversary in March! Traveling & touring abroad has influenced new song writing & that is the bands main focus for the rest of 2018. Look out for a brand new 6 song EP to be released in late 2018 and a North American and European tour to be announced in 2019!!

The Hearts have toured Europe, Scandinavia, United States/North America, and performed at notable festivals such as Long Beach Psyclone (2015), Psychobilly Earthquake #5 in Bremen, Germany, (2014), Rockabilly Deluxe, Petange Luxembourg, Viva Las Vegas #16 (2013), Octoberflame VI (2013), Psychobilly Meeting #25 in Barcelona Spain (2012), Mid-Summer Jamboree Festival in Finland (2012), The Las Vegas Shakedown Rock N Roll Weekender (2011), and headlined the Tiki Drive-In Stage at 2011's Ink N Iron Festival. They have shared billing with the likes of Tiger Army, The Adicts, Nekromantix, Delta Bombers, Larry & his Flask, The Supersuckers, Guana Batz, Los Straitjackets, Hillbilly Moon Explosion, The Swingin' Utters, Mad Sin, Lee Rocker, The Blasters, The Quakes, The Klingonz, Blood or Whiskey, The Paladins, Throw Rag, Detroit Cobras, The Head Cat, Lords Of Altamont, Frenzy, Sewer Rats, Reno Divorce, Dice For Lights, The Matadors, Fishbone, Rezurex, Stellar Corpses, and perform often with The Chop Tops, Koffin Kats, The Rocketz, Deadbolt, Reckless Ones and 3 Bad Jacks.
